DON QUI QUOI!?! (DON QUI WHAT!?!)

Don Qui Quoi!?! is the latest creation of the Canadian company DynamO Théâtre, well known in Teatralia after having presented more than ten shows at the festival over the years, which have always achieved enormous success.

The plot recreates a chance meeting between a theater director, an actor, a clown and Don Quixote's faithful squire. The helpful Sancho Panza is sentenced to live forever, Cervantes forgot to write an ending for him and now he is destined to travel endlessly through literature. It's the opening night of Don Quixote. Stress is in the air: the main actor is late, the director is restless and meanwhile, the stage technician is heating up toast. Attracted by the smell, Sancho Panza bursts onto the scene, wanders around, feeling ridiculed and misunderstood. Their frustrations jeopardize the performance...

DynamO Théâtre works with two lines of creation: on the one hand, acrobatic movement theater shows, and on the other, as is the case of Don Qui Quoi!?!, clown theater, in this case fused with object and puppet theater. The play is performed by a non-regular actor in the company, Jacques Laroche, a member of Théàtre de la Petite Marée, a Canadian company that co-produces this production. Premiered in Canada after almost two years of delay due to the pandemic, the show arrives in Madrid, with the added effort of representing it in Spanish, for which the actor has been working with a Spanish language coach.
